A listed investment group which donates towards literacy projects has completed a ‘significant’ minority investment into Campfire Group.

The Manchester-based digital marketing agency, founded in 2019 by Alex Brown and Joe Gradwell, is focused on providing technology and data-led influencer marketing services.

Its proprietary trend spotting and prediction tool, Spark, is at the core of its service offering.

“The investment from Literacy Capital will support Campfire’s continued growth, both organically and via strategic acquisitions, with a focus on their technology-centric proposition,” said investor Literacy, which donates 0.9% of its net assets every year in cash to literacy charities in the UK.

The company claims that this has amounted to more than £9.9 million since Literacy’s creation in 2017.

Brown and Gradwell will remain with the business and be joined by Jim Brigden (non-executive chairman) and Paul Cooper (non-exec director).

They bring marketing and digital media related experience from operational and advisory roles at Brainlabs, I Spy, The Search Works and Overture.
