Leeds digital sports tech company buys rival

Digital sports technology company Pitchero has acquired rivals Teamer, Club Website and Fixtures Live.

The undisclosed deal makes Leeds-based Pitchero one of the world’s top suppliers of grassroots sports websites and mobile applications.

The company’s active membership now stands at over 22,000 clubs with 160,000 active teams and more than two million members.

Pitchero supports grassroots clubs and participants through technology, making it easier to coordinate teams, grow revenue and manage clubs online.

CEO Mark Fletcher says this acquisition is the first step to bringing the UK and Ireland in line with rest of the world.

“It is an exciting time for grassroots sports and we are proud to be at the forefront of development, communication and activation and we have big plans for both Pitchero and Teamer,” he sadded.aid.

Pitchero CTO Jon Milsom said: “Users of both Teamer and Pitchero will be unaffected by the acquisition, but over time players, coaches, parents, sponsors and advertisers will begin to see additional benefits of being part of the UK’s biggest grassroots sports network.”

Pitchero and Teamer will continue under their current names.
