AIM-listed intelligent transport systems specialist Journeo plc has announced that its subsidiary Infotec has received $5 million (£4.1m) in purchase orders from Outfront Media Group (OFM).

The orders are set to supply next-generation platform display systems for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in New York City.

Infotec will provide four new variants of Journeo Design Centre TFT display technology, including 49-inch and 65-inch units certified for both indoor and outdoor use in the US.

These will be the first displays supplied by the group for digital out of home (DOOH) advertising on New York’s subway platforms.

Each unit will feature embedded technology that manages display performance, delivers diagnostic feedback for predictive maintenance and maximises system uptime.

The news has led to the Leicestershire-based firm’s share price rocketing, up 11.35% today to 510.55p.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026, supporting OFM’s programme to replace legacy technology across the MTA network.

“We are delighted to extend the OFM relationship with the deployment of our displays onto New York City subway platforms,” said Russ Singleton, CEO of Journeo plc.

“These purchase orders underscore the confidence that this leading advertising provider places in Journeo technology and is another important milestone in our US growth trajectory.”

The deal marks another major international success for Journeo, which has invested more than £6m in R&D over the past four years to advance its intelligent systems portfolio.

The company delivers technology solutions that look to enhance safety, efficiency and sustainability across public transport and critical infrastructure, with operations spanning the UK, Denmark and Sweden.
