Online electrical retailer AO World has announced that Jacqueline de Rojas CBE, non-executive director and member of the Remuneration and Nomination Committees has decided to step down from the board with immediate effect.

de Rojas joined the firm’s board in 2017, and holds positions as a non-executive director at Rightmove and Costain Group, a business advisor and mentor at Merryck and president of techUK.

AO said that in recent years de Rojas has increasingly dedicated her time to addressing the UK skills shortage in technology and has accordingly decided to re-balance her portfolio to give greater time and focus to this issue.

It reports that she has accepted a position as non-executive director at London-based FDM Group, a global professional services provider with a focus on information technology.

A selection process for a replacement has commenced, said AO. Appointments to the committee positions vacated by Jacqueline de Rojas will be made in due course.

AO World Chair Geoff Cooper said: “It has been a great pleasure to work with Jacqueline, who joined the AO Board in November 2017. I would like to thank her for her valuable contributions as a Non-executive Director, particularly in her work to advocate diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

“On behalf of the Board I would like to wish her every success in her future endeavours.”
