A husband-and-wife team have joined forces to launch a new digital coaching platform.

Liam Bateman is the former CTO of Manchester digital agency Silverchip, while Kathy Brooke is behind Kathy Brooke Coaching.

They’ve now come together to create a new tech platform – ‘Be Your Own Coach’ – aimed at providing businesses and individuals with evidence-led personal development and coaching.

Bateman, who founded Silverchip in 2008 and successfully scaled to the point of acquisition in 2022 when the business was acquired by the CTI Group, said the platform will feature tailored access to a library of content, training course and workshops.

He said: “I’ve spent almost 15 years building software for customers, from startups to household names. Spending the last year or so working out what’s next, Kathy and I have spoken many times about this product and as soon as we conceptualised it I knew the impact a tool like this would have.”

Brooke has built her own successful coaching business after a career as a professional stage actor, singer and voice coach.

She launched Kathy Brooke Coaching in 2016, successfully providing professional development coaching, workshops and bespoke programmes for businesses and individuals.

She said: “I spent the first half of my career in the world of theatre, perfecting the craft of performance from mindset to delivery.

“Over the past eight years as a development coach, I have worked within businesses to maximise professional performance.

“I see the same hurdles and challenges time and time again therefore I wanted to create a solution which puts the individual in control.

“The platform is built off a relentless passion to empower individuals to take ownership of their development and give an uncapped opportunity for growth.”

Bateman added: “Kathy’s coaching skills are exceptional, the impact and feedback she’s received from businesses and individuals has been at times life changing for them.

“This is why we want to bring this to a wider audience. These skills aren’t taught in school, they aren’t taught in most businesses but the true impact of having these tools and techniques can accelerate an individual to achieve whatever they are aiming for, and this impact and reach is why I’m extremely excited about what lies ahead with the BYOC Platform.”
