A document collaboration tool used by seven million people around the world is launching in the UK.

Online document editor ONLYOFFICE, a competitor to Google Docs and Microsoft Office Online, is used by Fujitsu, Oracle, Deloitte, Thomson Reuters and Suzuki, plus government departments, hospitals and universities.

It allows the collaborative editing of text documents, spreadsheets and presentations for personal and business use. Its products are ONLYOFFICE Docs, ONLYOFFICE Groups and ONLYOFFICE Workspace.

Highly compatible with Microsoft Office and OpenDocument file formats, the tool developed by Latvian firm Ascensio System SIA has won several awards in recent years

It has opened an office in London. “Currently we have 10 companies using ONLYOFFICE in the UK, ranging from small businesses to larger corporate enterprises. We are looking to significantly expand this number and grow our customer base across the country,” head of sales Galina Goduhina told BusinessCloud.

We have already expanded our partner network in the EU, Asia, Latin American and Africa as well as connecting our first partners in the United States.

Now our focus is on the UK market, with a huge opportunity for us to connect with new distributors and grow to become a leader in the office software sphere on UK soil.

The mass move to remote working due to COVID-19 could facilitate the tool’s growth in the UK, according to Guduhina.

We have seen an increase of clients in the educational and scientific spaces, due to the remote collaboration ONLYOFFICE offers at a time when seamless remote working solutions are a priority for the region,” she said.

We feel this will support our growth in the UK, as well as the launch of a new affiliation program.
