An acquisitive Nottinghamshire software firm has moved to complete its first deal of the year.

Ideagen has continued its rapid expansion with a £3.5 million swoop for Irish firm Scannell Solutions, which provides Software as a Service solutions for environmental health, safety and quality monitoring and auditing.

Ideagen, which saw revenues reach £36.1 million in the last financial year, provides software services including safety, quality and document management.

It made several acquisitions in 2018 in both the US and UK and boasts Ryanair and AirAsia among its clients. Scannell Solutions’ clients include Coca Cola, Johnson&Johnson, BT and Heineken.

Ben Dorks, chief executive of Ideagen, said: “I am delighted to announce the acquisition of Scannell Solutions Ltd.

“The company is a leader in terms of Environmental Health, Safety and Quality solutions, which it offers via a SaaS platform, so this will enable Ideagen to grow both our SaaS capabilities and accelerate our EHSQ offering.”

Geoff Spiers of Scannell Solutions added: “Scannell Solutions Ltd is delighted to be joining Ideagen. Ideagen is a world leader in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) software solutions for businesses in a wide range of industries.

“By coming together with them we will have the opportunity to significantly grow the customer base for our Environmental Health, Safety and Quality solution.”

Scannell Solutions employs 15 people while Ideagen is now approaching 500.
