FinTech entrepreneur Tom Greenwood is reported to be in critical condition following a quad bike accident on the Greek island of Mykonos.
According to Greek media reports, the founder of London firms Volt and Velocity was involved in a crash on Wednesday which left him with multiple fractures below the waist.
While receiving emergency treatment at Mykonos Health Centre, he was reported to have suffered a heart attack.
The report said an initial attempt to airlift him by helicopter through private insurance was abandoned after the crew judged the risk of survival too low. Greece’s National Emergency Centre subsequently organised a medical aircraft transfer to Nikaia General Hospital in Athens.
He was repeatedly resuscitated during the flight and placed on a ventilator upon arrival before undergoing hours of surgery. His condition on Thursday was said to be “stable but extremely serious”. He remains in intensive care.
