New female-founded Manchester-based tech startup PR Mastery App is said to be set to shake up the small business sector.
The PR Mastery App is a toolkit designed to make PR affordable and accessible for small business owners and startups.
It features over a decade of experience, supercharged with AI technology.
Sprout Social discovered that 76% of consumers buy from brands they feel connected with, and 57% spend more with those brands.
But for most of the small business sector, PR is simply too expensive, which has been a concern for PR agency founder Carla Speight throughout her career of over a decade.
Speight always felt that the industry needed to do more to help the small business sector, working within their extremely limited budgets to help them harness the power of PR to secure that 76% increase in consumer sales.
During the pandemic, she trialled reasonably priced consultancy sessions for small businesses, which were incredibly successful.
She quickly became a partner with the Enterprising You program, run by the Growth Company in Manchester, who offered a range of small businesses and startups access to her consultancy for free.
During that time, the inspiration for her most recent start-up was developed.
“I wanted to do my bit to support the small business and start-up economy. I had a sinking feeling that whilst the budget announcements were reasonable, they would do as the last government did and reduce support for the sector that they’ve always called ‘the backbone of our economy’,” said Speight.
“These are the people that get out of bed every day with very little other than passion for what they do.
“They have the best stories to tell and often make the biggest differences to their community but they don’t have budgets to spend on promotions of any sort in the current state of the economy, and I wanted to help change that.
“Whilst I can’t fix the economy alone or force the government to invest in the incredibly important small business sector, I can do my bit to help by sharing my skills and making it affordable and easy for them to implement PR as part of their ongoing business operations.”
The toolkit features an AI-driven, deep tech press release writer and pitch generator, with more releases set to expand the toolkit soon.
Future releases over the coming weeks include a campaign planner and a blogging tool.
