Listed health technology firm Induction Healthcare has undergone an executive management shakeup.

The virtual care platform, one of our HealthTech 50 companies, has also appointed a chief technology officer as it targets further growth.

Dr Hugo Stephenson, joint CEO, will move to a new role as group executive director, with a focus on group product strategy and business development, particularly in the Asia Pacific region. James Balmain, the other joint CEO, will become Induction’s sole CEO.

Dave Williams joins from Just Eat as CTO. He has over 25 years’ experience leading technology teams, including positions at CompuServe UK/AOL UK and the UK Hydrographic Office, a trading fund of the UK Ministry of Defence.

During his tenure as chief information officer at Just Eat, he held group-wide accountability for the stability, scalability and security of all eCommerce platforms and the technology used by Just Eat employees globally.

“Dave is a fantastic addition to the Induction senior management team,” said Balmain. “He has a strong track record with growth businesses and his proven expertise as a technology leader will be invaluable to the group as we establish our integrated flexible care platform.

“I look forward to working with him to enhance our portfolio of solutions.”

Dr Stephenson will also continue to manage the ongoing integration of Induction Attend Anywhere.

“The acquisition of Attend Anywhere has transformed Induction, increasing group revenue as well as our operational complexity, as our products underpin critical functions within the NHS at scale,” added Balmain.

“These changes will simplify our management structure, increase accountability, and allow us to focus on both delivery for our core UK customers and creation of new opportunities outside the UK – particularly in the Asia-Pacific region where many of our staff are now based.”

Stephenson commented: “The products we already deliver at scale in the UK have significant potential in new markets. Healthcare systems need tools that allow providers and patients to work together more flexibly, freed from the constraints of having everyone together in the same room at the same time.

“ I am excited about being able to personally focus on these international opportunities while assisting James and the rest of the management team as they continue to deliver operational and commercial success from within our core business.”
