Insurance platform Cytora has appointed Max Pepe as its Chief Marketing Officer.

The hire follows the recent appointments of Juan de Castro as Chief Operating and Commercial Officer, and Liuben Siarov as Chief Data Scientist.

As CMO, Pepe will oversee overall marketing strategy at Cytora including brand, growth, product marketing, communications, digital and events.

“Max is a highly accomplished and creative marketing leader, whose success with hyper-growth startups makes him a great addition to our team,” said Richard Hartley, CEO, Cytora.

“He has a proven ability to create and shape category leadership for market defining technology firms and we’re excited about Max’s role in Cytora’s next phase of its growth.”

Pepe joins the firm from Ogury, a global adtech company with over $90m funding and 400 employees in 10 countries, where he led and grew the corporate marketing function.

Prior to this he founded REBELHEAD to help companies find product category differentiation. Max has also held senior marketing roles at Mozoo and AdinCube.

“Innovation is no longer a choice in insurance – it’s a necessity, because insurance companies of the future are being built today,” said Pepe.

“Cytora is solving the biggest problems facing commercial insurance companies today, as they seek to deepen their relevance and unlock growth in a world undergoing fundamental technology shifts. I couldn’t be more excited to join such an intelligent team, on such a purpose-driven quest to transform the world of commercial insurance.”

Cytora works with global insurers and digital-first MGAs, and is backed by over $40m of venture capital to help improve underwriting productivity with new tech.
