Commify has appointed Richard Hanscott as CEO.

The Nottingham-headquartered firm runs a global portfolio of business messaging brands and serves almost 45,000 businesses and sending over 3 billion messages – through SMS, email, voice, web or payments – a year.

As CEO of Yell, Hanscott transformed the former Yellow Pages business into a fully digital, market-leading provider of managed marketing services for local businesses.

Prior to this, Hanscott spent 13 years in the mobile industry with NEC and Orange, delivering growth in both consumer and B2B markets.

Hanscott will start the role with immediate effect, taking over from Tom Boucher who, as interim CEO, has led the organisation following the resignation, due to health reasons, of previous CEO Geoff Love.

Boucher will continue to serve Commify on the board in a non-executive capacity.

Carla Cico, chair of the board, commented: “After an extensive selection process, the booard is delighted to have appointed Richard as Commify’s new CEO.

“We sought someone with a proven track record in helping businesses achieve their potential; who can develop and articulate a customer-centric strategy and motivate a global team, to support shared goals.

“Richard is an outstanding leader who, with his experience in telecommunications and delivering value for SMEs, is primed to accelerate Commify’s growth.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tom Boucher on behalf of the Commify Board for stepping into the CEO role on an interim basis, delivering stability, clarity of purpose and guiding the Commify team through a period of great change.”

Hanscott said: “I am excited to be working with the talented and energetic team at Commify, a clear European leader in B2B communication solutions.

“I look forward to leading the business during this next phase of technology innovation and growth, while also delivering ever more value for our customers.”

Headquartered in Nottingham, the business operates in the UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Germany, Italy and Australia under a portfolio of customer-facing brands addressing different markets and different customer segments.

These include Esendex, Mobyt, Skebby, Text Marketer, SMSenvoi, SMSpubli, and Massenversand.de.
