London software group ClearCourse has acquired payments solutions provider Mosaic Software Limited.

Based in East Kilbride, Scotland, Mosaic is ClearCourse’s 22nd acquisition. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Mosaic was founded in 1994 and offers a product suite including BACS clearing, direct debit management, bank payment file generation, bank account validation and address validation.

Its customers include Aberdeen Football Club, the Leicester Tigers, Chester Zoo and Northumbrian Water.

ClearCourse said Mosaic’s direct debit capabilities are highly complementary to its existing payments businesses. Following the deal, it said the teams will work closely to deliver new solutions to their clients.

Gerry Gualtieri, CEO of ClearCourse, said: “Payments has been a core element of ClearCourse since our foundation in 2018 and Mosaic will be instrumental in helping us cement our leading position in the UK market. I look forward to working with Ian and his team as we continue to expand our suite of payments capabilities.”

Ian Rodger, founder and owner of Mosaic Software, added: “I’m immensely proud of the journey Mosaic has been on over the past 25 years. As we look to the next phase of growth, we see the huge value that ClearCourse brings to the business.

“Having consistently been at the forefront of digital transformation in the payments industry, we’re cognisant of the growing need for collaboration in order to drive expansion at scale. We see an exciting opportunity to continue our innovative journey with ClearCourse and look forward to doing so.”
