2025 was officially a record-breaking year for BusinessCloud.

A total of 818,000 people visited our website in the year – an increase of 71 per cent on the 477,000 visitors in 2024.

Analysis shows that for the first time mobile overtook desktop as the way most people accessed our website.

Mobile users now account for 52 per cent of all users, compared to 46 per cent desktop users. The remainder use tablets.

BusinessCloud’s record-breaking year continues

Editor Jonathan Symcox said: “2025 was a record-breaking year for BusinessCloud but we won’t be resting on our laurels.

“2026 marks our 10th anniversary and we’ve got some exciting announcements in the pipeline.

“It was fascinating to see that mobile has overtaken desktop as the way most people access our website and highlights the importance of creating mobile-first content.”

Symcox said 2026 was already shaping up to be an exciting year.

“We’re busy working on our 3rd Northern Leaders list but we have exciting plans to really go where the stories are,” he said.

“AI is clearly a game-changer but it’s not a substitute for human contact and I’m looking forward to sharing more details of what we’ve got planned for 2026.”

Symcox, who is the joint owner of Rochdale-based BusinessCloud alongside executive editor Chris Maguire, praised the growing contribution of executive chairman Frazer Durris.

“He’s a serial entrepreneur and is proving a brilliant sounding board for Chris and I with our ideas for BusinessCloud,” he said.
