Chris Maguire will host business innovation conference Venturefest Manchester on September 21st.
The third Venturefest Manchester features top speakers including Sir Howard Bernstein, chief executive of Manchester City Council, Siemens chief executive Juergen Maier and Dame Nancy Rothwell, president and vice chancellor of the University of Manchester.
Organised by the Business Growth Hub and Innovate UK, it will be held at Bridgewater Hall and include interactive workshops and networking with some of the region’s most successful business leaders.
BusinessCloud editor Maguire will front the event.
“Venturefest is a key date in the calendar and I’m delighted that BusinessCloud will be involved,” Maguire said.
“It is a great showcase for what’s happening in Manchester.”
Among his 25 years in journalism he spent five years editing North West Business Insider and has interviewed some of the biggest names in business, politics and sport.
In March 2016 he joined forces with UKFast CEO and co-founder Lawrence Jones to launch BusinessCloud, a magazine, website and events company which aims to demystify technology for a business audience.
Maguire has also forged a reputation as an entertaining and amusing events host.
Venturefest Manchester is all about technology and innovation – and the ways in which they can help companies to grow.
Last year’s conference attracted more than 700 delegates.
Business Growth Hub’s director of business growth, Richard Jeffery, said: “We’re aiming to build on Manchester’s great tradition of innovative and independent thinking, stimulating new ideas, investment and collaborations and ultimately helping to support the continued growth of GM and the wider North West.”
Among the Three Tech Tribes panellists are Claire Braithwaite, tech advisor to the Manchester Growth Company and former head of Tech North, ParkingEye founder Andrew McKerney, MPD Group CEO David Grimes and Garry Partington, CEO and co-founder of RealityMine and chairman of Apadmi.
BusinessCloud will be holding a major conference on the subject of tech disruption on September 15th.
