Building Blocks goes international with Dept rebrand

Manchester-based Building Blocks has joined forces with 12 other digital agencies to form new international agency Dept.

Building Blocks implements and integrates CMS platforms as well as providing digital strategy, design and on-going support services to global enterprise organisations.

It will now be able to offer additional digital services such as marketing automation, video production, brand identity and eCommerce by working with the sister agencies, which operate across eight countries.

“Dept started as a network of specialist agencies working together to bring innovation and acceleration to our clients’ marketing, digital products and services ambitions,” said Dept managing director Dimi Albers.

“This has benefited a number of our joint clients who now work daily with integrated Dept teams combining our creative, technology and data experts.

“We believe that working as an integrated team aligns well with our clients’ integrated brands so we have decided to all come together to become a single agency, Dept.”

Dept, with a turnover of more than €80 million, creates digital solutions for brands such as Butlin’s, Zalando, Triumph Motorcycles and Formula E.

The newly formed digital agency will service existing clients from their headquarters in Amsterdam and offices across Europe and North America. The agencies in Germany and Denmark will follow suit later this year.

Studio Dumbar, with its 40-year heritage as a leading design agency, will remain as “part of Dept” and keep its own identity.
