Lottie, an app that connects people to care homes, has topped a list of the UK’s best 100 startups.
The Startups 100 is aimed at businesses founded in the past five years and is now in its 17th year.
Companies included in previous indexes include household names, such as Deliveroo, Monzo, and Revolut.
In top position in 2025 is Lottie, which is revolutionising the adult social care sector with its care finder platform.
It was founded in 2021 by brothers Will and Chris Donnelly and raised £16.4m in a Series A funding round in 2021.
Second in the 2025 Startups 100 Index is LegalTech Robin AI, which was founded in 2019 by Richard Robinson and James Clough.
The company has developed a platform to automate menial and repetitive legal tasks, such as document drafting, and operates out of London and New York. A new base was also opened in Asia in July 2024.
Third on the list is rewards credit card startup Yonder, founded in 2020 by Tim Chong, Theso Jivajirajah, and Harry Jell. Last year the startup announced a £23.4m investment.
Fourth on the list is London-based parcel delivery network HIVED, which uses an all-electric fleet to deliver packages. It was founded in 2021 by Murvah Iqbal and Mathias Krieger.

Gaia, a startup founded by Nader AlSalim to develop a new a new way to pay for fertility care, took fifth spot.
Places 6-10 were taken by personal running coach app Runna, cybersecurity firm Quantum Dice, meat-free EnviroTech startup Hoxton Farms, AI-powered fitness mirror MAGIC AI and MedTech Eolas Medical.

The accolade comes during a purple patch for Lottie, which saw them listed in the top spot for LinkedIn’s Top Startups 2024.
The UK’s longest running index of disruptive new startups, the Startups 100, has released its 2021 lineup.
Multiverse, a startup launched by Euan Blair and providing apprenticeships for the digital age, topped the 2021 Startups 100 list.
The 100 startups that were chosen were judged in five key criteria: Financial performance; external validation; market opportunity; idea innovativeness; and strength of concept.
