KPMG has revealed the eight regional winners of its Tech Innovator competition who will pitch for the chance to represent the UK at the global final later this year.

The annual competition, which showcases tech innovators from regions across the UK, has been running since 2013.

Over the years it has uncovered outstanding tech from businesses including What3Words, Inovus Medical and HiiROC, who went on to win the global final during Web Summit in 2022.

In 2024 KPMG shortlisted 80 businesses from nearly 400 entries, with heats held across eight locations.

The winners, listed below, will now pitch in the national final in London on 23rd July.

  • Cellexcel – East of England
  • Spinview UK – London
  • Halocycle – Yorkshire & the Humber/North East
  • Graphene Innovations Manchester – North West
  • OGI Bio – Scotland
  • Infinitopes – South Central

The overall winner will represent the UK at the global final, which takes place alongside Web Summit later in the year, with a panel of global judges set to crown the winner.

“This competition never fails to impress with the pure level and diversity of innovation coming out of the UK,” said Nicole Lowe (pictured), UK head of KPMG’s Emerging Giants practice.

“Our regional tech ecosystems are home to some great talent and innovation and play such a key role in our local and national economies. We are delighted to be able to shine a spotlight on just some of the great tech being developed.

“Our finalists are fantastic examples of the diversity of the UK’s tech sector, which continues to attract global investment and flies the flag for British tech. Given the amazing quality of our finalists and the teams that sit behind them, our judges will have a very tough task next month finding just one UK winner.”
