Challenger bank Griffin has received £3m backing from Seedcamp and angel investors.

The London-based company describes itself as the ‘bank as a platform’ and provides technology to FinTechs that need custodial accounts and access to interbank payments.

Angels Paul Forster, Rony Kahan, Charles Delingpole and Charlie Songhurst were among the backers.

The bank was founded in 2017 by CEO David Jarvis, who built infrastructure for Standard Treasury and Airbnb, and CTO Allen Rohner, who is based in the US and is a founder and former CTO at CircleCI.

It builds almost everything in-house – from core banking ledger to customer information system to payments integrations to API frontend.

Griffin is yet to launch.
