Software-driven fulfilment provider Huboo is creating 300 jobs in Bristol with the launch of its new Avonmouth warehouse site, following 12 months of rapid growth and expansion.
With eCommerce now accounting for a third of all retail sales in the UK, Huboo has capitalised on the growing consumer demand by offering online retailers efficient and cost-effective fulfilment services via its pioneering ‘micro hub’ technology.
Huboo has recently achieved a series of record-breaking months, including its first £1m turnover month just before Christmas. As a result, it has recently acquired a new 5,200 sqm warehouse site in Avonmouth, taking its total warehouse space across the UK to 11,000 sqm – more than double the amount since the brand launched three years ago.
Opening this month, the new site will create 300 jobs in the local area, ranging from hub managers to data scientists.
Martin Bysh, co-founder of Huboo, said: “It has been an incredibly busy 12 months for Huboo and we’re delighted with the rate at which we have grown recently.
“Despite it being a very difficult time for the UK retail industry, we are seeing lots of businesses ramp up their digital offerings in an attempt to combat the detrimental impact the pandemic has had on the high street. And as consumer shopping habits also continue to change in the face of current restrictions, this is a trend that is only set to grow.
“Our new site in Avonmouth is ideally located to our existing site in Emersons Green, meaning as we continue to scale, we can ensure that our customers still receive a seamless service. We also know from experience that the talent pool in Bristol is incredibly strong, so we look forward to welcoming new team members across all areas of the business.”
As a result of the new warehouse, Huboo expects to triple its customer base and revenues over the next six months. The business is also already looking for its next new warehouse site which they predict will be 10,000sqm.
Launched in 2017, Huboo is renowned for its unique ‘micro hub’ technology which enables online retailers of all sizes to access a complete end-to-end fulfilment operation within minutes. It also utilises software to drive a smarter, more productive and human-centric warehouse.
Each ‘hub’ replicates the inputs, processes and outputs of a complete warehouse within a few hundred square feet, with Huboo’s management software keeping tabs on every item throughout the fulfilment process, with a dedicated Hub Manager running each one.
The company’s software provides everything from transaction management and quality control, stock control, order tracking and billing information to integration with popular sales channels and marketplaces, such as Amazon, eBay and Shopify, enabling the company to directly receive and process retailers’ orders in real-time.
