Northern Irish tech firm Kainos has hired 400 staff in the last five months.

In a statement to the London Stock Exchange, the listed firm said it now employs more than 2,400 people.

The digital technology company and Workday Services Partner also announced it has completed the acquisition of UNE Consulting to expand its Americas Workday operations.

Kainos and UNE, founded in 2011 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, have worked on joint projects since 2019.

UNE, which employs 42 people, offers deep expertise in the full range of Workday services, including Workday Financial Management and Workday Human Capital Management.

The acquisition is Kainos’ fifth in the Workday partner ecosystem and the second in the Americas, after the acquisition of IntuitiveTEK, based in Denver, Colorado, in 2020.

The terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

“We are delighted to welcome the UNE Consulting team to Kainos as we continue to grow our global Workday practice – UNE’s values of innovation, trust and commitment deeply align with our own,” said Brendan Mooney, CEO, Kainos.

“We look forward to working closely with our new colleagues, who have a wealth of experience serving customers across the Americas.”

Jimena Huarte, Director, UNE Consulting, added: “I am incredibly proud of all we have achieved to date and excited for the next stage in our journey.

“Joining Kainos formalises a collaborative working relationship that has been in place for some time and is a powerful combination for our customers.”
