Tech start-up PixelPin has a revolutionary approach to security: allowing users to log in using their favourite picture.
The Cheltenham-based firm was selected as one of London’s hottest FinTech companies by the Mayor of London’s promotional agency London and Partners.
It claims its 2-Factor visual authentication solution strengthens user engagement and brand loyalty whilst ensuring a higher level of cyber security than traditional alphanumeric passwords.
PixelPin’s cloud-based tech allows users to log in to any application or system, on any device, via an image they have uploaded themselves.
They select four points on the image which represents the ‘password’. With an almost infinite number of combinations available on images, it is said to be a highly secure system.
Founders Brian Taylor and CEO Geoff Anderson have over 30 years’ experience of managing complex systems in the defence and security markets.
With offices in London, Cheltenham, New York and Tokyo, PixelPin is currently active for businesses and users in the UK, USA, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea.
The firm raised £1,523,834 on crowdfunding platform Seedrs in July having sought investment of £1,388,623 in return for 13.97 per cent equity.
PixelPin recently collaborated with GFirst LEP and The Growth Hub in Gloucestershire to provide secure access to online business support services.
