Chelsea FC’s new third kit is the first in the world to be connected to the internet.
The club’s fans can scan the NikeConnect logo on the stylish light blue shirt using the Nike app.
This gives them access to “customised content and exclusive experiences”.
Nike said that the tech also gives fans the chance to participate in the development of a special Chelsea ‘Shirtholder’s Edition’ jersey.
“This co-creation experience includes collaborating with Nike designers during the course of a multi-stage, authentic design process, resulting in a fan jersey available to shirtholders,” it said.
Meanwhile Manchester United has unveiled a strip made from waste plastic recovered from the sea.
Adidas developed the shirt in partnership with Parley, a campaign group working to stop waste plastic getting into the oceans.
It has also developed such shirts for European champions Real Madrid, German champions Bayern Munich and Italian champions Juventus.
