BGL Group, a leading digital distributor of insurance and household financial services, has announced the launch of the new BGL Academy.
The academy will offer high-quality specialised career development, ranging from entry-level roles to post-graduate degree qualifications.
A key element of the scheme will be a new apprenticeship programme which will see the creation of more than 200 apprentice roles across its sites over the next year.
The academy also incorporates BGL’s existing and very successful graduate programme, which has seen 50 graduates trained in a variety of specialist roles in marketing, finance and technology in the five years since its launch.
In addition, the established Business Pathway programme for A-level school leavers, which offers apprentices the opportunity to gain a broad overview of all areas of the business, becomes part of the scheme, bringing all of BGL’s emerging talent under one umbrella.
The new apprenticeships will offer a wealth of opportunities and levels from Foundation level apprenticeships for those with qualifications up to GCSE level to Advanced and Higher level apprenticeships for people with A-levels and degrees.
Those interested in joining the programme have a range of different roles to choose from depending on their field of interest, including data, digital, tech, customer service, finance, HR and pricing.
BGL Group is focused on developing its core digital, data and marketing capabilities and aims to do this through the professional development of its people, including those who will take up the new apprentice roles.
BGL is developing an extensive support network to set candidates up for success.
As well as on-boarding training, those joining will be matched with an experienced mentor in their business area who will support them during their first six months.
Candidates will also have the opportunity to join the existing network of apprentices who have a wealth of experience and advice to offer.
“The launch of the BGL Academy is a great example of our commitment to people development and our aim of making BGL a great place to work,” said BGL Group CEO Matthew Donaldson.
“The Academy will play to the strength of our data, digital, brand and marketing capabilities and will allow us to share our expertise in these areas with talented people to develop the industry professionals of the future.
“I look forward to meeting the people who join our programme and seeing them develop their career here at BGL.”
