Accenture has appointed Shaheen Sayed as the UK & Ireland Technology lead, effective from December.
The new comes as exiting tech lead Zahra Bahrololoumi was named Executive Vice President and CEO for Salesforce UK and Ireland, from March next year.
Sayed most recently served as lead for Accenture’s Health & Public Service business in the region, and over her 20 years with the company has led technology and business transformation programmes for clients across the public and private sector in the United Kingdom and globally.
She was recently voted ‘Women of the Year’ at the Women in IT Awards and named as one of the Top 10 most Influential Black and Minority Ethnic leaders in the UK by the Financial Times.
Sayed is a respected thought leader on Human Capital and speaks externally on both private and public-sector platforms advocating next generation thinking on inclusive business culture.
She is also a visiting guest lecturer on the London School of Economics Global Masters in Management programme and is actively working with Academia on issues relating to technology and ethics.
“Shaheen’s broad experience with digital transformation and proven track record of success working with our clients around the world make her the ideal person to lead Accenture Technology here in the UK and Ireland,” said Olly Benzecry, country managing director, Accenture UK & Ireland.
“She is passionate about driving change for our clients and has contributed greatly to identifying, engaging with and developing the next generation of leaders. I am delighted to see her taking on this important role.”
Sayed added: “Against a backdrop of seismic change, we are witnessing an expedited need for technology to deliver outcomes that matter for both business and the greater good of society. Our clients are dealing with expectations that demand sustainable products and services.
“All of this is taking place in a context where the need for digital platforms and experiences is accelerating at pace. As such, the role of Accenture Technology has never been more important and I’m looking forward to leading our UKI Technology business.”
