Shares in Pathos Communications plc have risen 7% today to around 28 pence after it posted strong half-year results.

The AI public relations firm was founded in 2019 by stand-up comedian Omar Hamdi (pictured), who combined a background in computing, journalism and television presenting to democratise access to established news publications utilising a ‘pay-on-results’ model.

Having never raised institutional funding, it underwent a £20 million public listing in December 2025, raising more than £5m as it joined the London Stock Exchange’s junior AIM market. However shares are 14% down on their IPO price.

For the six months ended 30th June 2026, Pathos saw 14% revenue growth to $7.3m; a 36% increase in adjusted EBITDA to $1.7m; and 27% uplift in profit before tax to £964,000.

The company collaborates with its clients to create and distribute articles across a variety of platforms including established news outlets, digital media and podcast channels, leveraging its AI internal assistants.

PathosMind is an in-house AI agent which monitors more than 50,000 news sources – plus social media – for its clients and prospects daily, and drafts article outlines in real time. Pressella, meanwhile, is a virtual publicist; while PodcastWise is described as the world’s largest verified database of podcast hosts.

The former two are on track to be offered to all clients in H1 2027, Pathos said.

The company added that the launch of dedicated Asia Pacific (APAC) operation is showing early positive signs while it had signed a 24-month agreement with one of the ‘Big Three’ US news periodicals.

CEO Hamdi, who worked for the BBC for years, said: “H1 2026 has been a period of strong delivery for Pathos with revenue, profits and cash receipts all increasing while we continued to invest the proceeds of our successful IPO behind the next phase of growth.

“The period saw us broaden our product offering, secure strategic publisher partnerships, strengthen our sales organisation and continue to advance Pressella, our proprietary AI platform, which we believe has the potential to transform both our operations and customer acquisition capabilities.”
