Marex was revealed as the front-of-shirt sponsor ahead of Nottingham Forest’s opening-day Premier League defeat to Leeds United.

It has signed a multi-year Principal Partnership with Forest.

So what does the company do?

Marex Group Ltd is described as a diversified global financial services platform.

It has evolved from its heritage as a commodities firm to a global financial services partner that provides market access, infrastructure services and essential liquidity to clients across global markets.

Its four services are clearing, agency and execution, market making and hedging and investment solutions.

It has a leading franchise in many major metals, energy and agricultural products, with access to more than 60 exchanges.

Marex currently has over 3,000 employees and over 50 offices across Europe, Asia and the Americas, with headquarters in London and New York.

Chief executive Ian Lowitt told the club’s supporters that “at Marex we have built our global business by developing trusted, long-term relationships with our clients and growing alongside them”.

Employment Hero welcomed back by Leeds United

He added: “Our partnership with Nottingham Forest, a team with a proud heritage and a clear determination to compete at the highest level, will introduce Marex and our broad capabilities to an even wider global audience.

“We are genuinely excited by the opportunity to work with Forest and support their goals, just as we support our clients in achieving theirs. High performance, ambition and teamwork unite our organizations and provide a strong foundation for this partnership.

“This marks an important step in Marex’s continued development, and we look forward to what we can achieve together.”

Forest recently appointed Oliver Glasner as head coach, but his side lost 1-0 to Leeds United at the City Ground at the weekend.

As Principal Partner, Marex branding will feature on Forest men’s and women’s playing and replica football shirts, as well as on the dresses of the Forest netball team.

Marex branding will also be prominent at the City Ground on matchdays and across all digital platforms throughout the 2026/27 season and beyond.

Together, Marex and Forest said they will raise awareness of career opportunities for women across the financial services industry, while also developing initiatives to improve financial literacy in the community.

Marex will be the Global Markets Partner of Nottingham Forest FC and will be the exclusive provider of foreign exchange and other financial services.

“We are delighted to welcome Marex as our new Front of Shirt partner,” said Evangelos Marinakis, Nottingham Forest owner.

“Marex is an ambitious, global business with a strong reputation for excellence and performance, and those qualities reflect our own ambitions for Nottingham Forest.

“This partnership is another important step in the continued growth of our Club, and we look forward to working together and building a successful relationship.”
