PayByPhone, a Hatfield technology provider for mobile parking payments, has appointed Bob Shepard to its executive leadership team as chief product officer (CPO).
Shepard brings nearly two decades of enterprise product leadership experience to PayByPhone and most recently served as head of product at Valet Living.
PayByPhone is backed by Lightyear Capital and is intensifying its investment in product-led technology to achieve its global growth ambitions.
Shepard will report to president and chief executive officer Jonny Combe, effective immediately.
He has been tasked with overseeing PayByPhone’s global product strategy and roadmap, leveraging data, partnerships and innovation to deepen the driver experience and strengthen relationships with municipalities and parking operators.
Combe said: “At PayByPhone we see a world where people navigate life with ease, and we are on a mission to build the most trusted parking and mobility platforms.
“Bob is the product leader that ambition calls for. He has spent his career creating the foundational products this industry runs on and has scaled the experiences our customers rely on.
“Lightyear backed us not only for our product-led technology but also for the greenfield ahead of us. Bob isn’t here to maintain the status quo; he is here to evolve our platform and transform how we deliver next-generation mobility.”
Shepard added: “PayByPhone has built an incredible foundation as a household name in mobility, and the opportunity ahead as an independent, product-led business is immense.
“My career has been focused on removing friction from the everyday act of parking and helping cities seamlessly manage emerging mobility.
“I am thrilled to join Jonny and the executive leadership team to turn PayByPhone’s roadmap into measurable growth, expanding beyond traditional parking into connected mobility payments while delivering world-class reliability at scale.”
PayByPhone is a global leader in mobile parking payments and simplifies journeys for millions of UK drivers with smart, intuitive technology and user-focused features.
