Breezemove, the PropTech platform that aims to transform the UK property transaction process, has secured a £160k investment from GC Angels.

The funding will support the tech startup’s expansion into Manchester and further enhance its technology platform.

Breezemove currently employs a team of eight and plans to significantly expand its workforce over the coming months, growing both its sales and technology functions.

The company is also looking to recruit specialist data scientists and product talent as it continues to develop its platform and strengthen its data-driven capabilities.

Having already begun onboarding estate agents across Greater Manchester, Breezemove is targeting further expansion into Leeds, London and Bristol as it continues to scale nationally.

Breezemove, which was founded by serial entrepreneur Phil Melia in 2022, recently completed Baltic Ventures’ third 16-week accelerator programme.

The investment follows previous backing from FSE Capital in 2023 and forms part of an ongoing £750k fundraising round, with the company having also secured support from angel investors.

It comes after Breezemove’s participation in the first cohort of GC Angels’ Venture Forward accelerator programme, backed by Innovate UK.

Melia said: “Having spent more than a decade in property development, I experienced first-hand the frustrations and inefficiencies that exist throughout the home-moving process.

“We launched Breezemove to bring greater accountability, transparency and efficiency to every stage of the transaction journey.

“The Venture Forward programme really helped us to understand what was required when undergoing an institutional funding round and was ultimately invaluable when we were raising funds.

“This investment from GC Angels now gives us the capital we need to continue enhancing our technology and accelerating our growth. We’ve already seen strong adoption across Birmingham, Liverpool and now Manchester, and we’re excited to build on that momentum as we expand into new regions.”

Ranvir Singh, investment manager at GC Angels, said: “The property transaction process is extremely complex and fragmented. Breezemove has developed an innovative solution that addresses these challenges by improving accountability and transparency across the entire transaction chain.

“With transaction timelines increasing across the market and consumers facing greater uncertainty throughout the home-moving process, solutions that can improve efficiency and reduce fall-through rates have a significant role to play in the future of the sector.

“Phil and the team have combined deep sector expertise with a clear vision for how technology can modernise the home-moving experience.

“This was clear throughout our first Venture Forward programme, and it’s why we’re so excited to now be supporting Breezemove as it scales its platform, expands into new markets and continues to deliver meaningful improvements for property professionals and consumers alike.”
