Ticketmaster has launched an app in ChatGPT which it says will transform how fans find events.
As fan behaviour evolves, discovery is no longer limited to search engines or social platforms, the firm says, with more fans turning to AI platforms to find events, compare options and make decisions in real time.
Ticketmaster is at the forefront of shaping this shift with its app in ChatGPT, it says, “ensuring your events are discoverable in these emerging spaces and piloting new ways to reach fans at the moment decisions are made”.
Ticketmaster is working with ChatGPT parent company OpenAI to bring event discovery directly into the app, which has 900 million weekly active users.
Fans can now discover events and explore ticket options directly inside ChatGPT, without needing to leave the conversation.
Once connected to the app, it effectively allows interactive event listings based on fan queries; they can ask questions about live events, local concerts, or games; explore events and ticket options, including price, section, or location; and complete the purchase on Ticketmaster’s secure marketplace.
They can activate the app by starting a prompt with @Ticketmaster.
OpenAI is also testing sponsored ad placements in ChatGPT, introducing a new advertising format designed to surface relevant products, services and experiences directly in areas like conversational search.
Questions like ‘What concerts are near me?’ or ‘What events are happening this weekend?’ can be answered with relevant ads as they signal real-time intent in purchase consideration, it says.
