Former Microsoft chief digital officer (CDO) Jacky Wright is set to join retail giant Frasers Group as a non-executive director next week.
Wright has more than three decades of experience in digital transformation across the private and public sectors and is also known for her work promoting inclusive innovation.
Most recently, she served as a senior partner as well as chief technology and platform officer at McKinsey & Company.
She joined the global consultancy in 2022 as its first chief technology and platform officer, where she led the firm’s overall technology portfolio and strategy.
Her remit included overseeing the company’s internal technology team, serving more than 40,000 colleagues around the world and accelerating how technology is used in client-facing work, including new platforms and AI-enabled transformation.
Before McKinsey, Wright held senior leadership at Microsoft US, where she served as corporate vice president and chief digital officer.
She rejoined the tech powerhouse in 2019 after a two-year secondment in the UK public sector, when she served as chief digital and information officer at HMRC.
Earlier in her career, the Stanford graduate held chief information officer roles at BP and GE, along with senior management positions at Andersen Consulting, now Accenture.

She has also sat on the board of multiple corporate and non-profit boards, mentored emerging leaders and championed ethical and inclusive technology adoption.
She has consistently been recognised as an influential technology leader, with a track record of guiding global organisations through complex technological change while embedding values of inclusivity and equity.
“I’m delighted to announce our proposed new appointment to the board with Jacky,” said Sir Jon Thompson, who is now chair of the board at Frasers Group after taking up the role at the start of the month.
“We welcome her wealth of experience in digital and AI transformation to further drive the group’s long-term ambitions.”
Michael Murray, CEO of Frasers Group, added: “Today’s announcement of the proposed appointment reinforces the group’s commitment to this pivotal next phase of the Elevation Strategy.
“I look forward to welcoming Jacky to the board, bringing with her deep expertise in digital transformation that will be instrumental as we further build and roll out our AI strategy.”
Her arrival at Frasers Group comes as the London-headquartered company continues its Elevation Strategy, which has seen the retail group expand its digital capabilities and invest heavily in data and AI.
It also comes just two months after the business replaced its financing facilities with a new £3bn term loan and revolving credit facility from its banks.
