Recruitment & HRAppointments

A former tech figure at retail behemoth Amazon and CRM giant Salesforce has joined UKG.

UKG is described as an AI-first provider of HR, payroll, and workforce management solutions.

Newly appointed CTO Jim Joudrey will lead the company’s global engineering and cloud organisation of more than 4,000 people, and report to CEO Jennifer Morgan.

Joudrey has more than two decades of experience leading large-scale engineering and technology teams at some of the world’s largest software companies. Most recently, he served as vice president of digital acceleration at Amazon, where he led digital eCommerce across 40+ businesses at Amazon, including Prime, Prime Video, Audible, Music, Devices and Games.

Prior to that, Joudrey was SVP of analytics cloud engineering at Salesforce following its Tableau acquisition, where he helped drive Tableau’s cloud migration initiative.

He previously spent a decade at Amazon in roles spanning core financial systems, marketplace services and supply chain operations, culminating in a technology leadership role in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure, responsible for engineering teams owning labour management, data center automation, security, hardware vetting and monitoring.

“Jim is a transformational technology leader with a track record of turning bold ideas into products that deliver results for customers,” said Morgan.

“He joins UKG at a perfect time as we begin the next chapter of our technology story. With his deep expertise, we’ll accelerate innovation and create even greater opportunities for our customers to better understand their workforce and orchestrate how work gets done — driving deeper engagement with their employees and resulting in better experiences, higher productivity, and stronger outcomes. We’re thrilled to welcome him to UKG.”

More than 80,000 organisations across 150 countries, including two-thirds of Fortune 1000 companies, use UKG solutions to enhance productivity, efficiency, and flexibility for their people and complex workforce operations.

Joudrey succeeds Sri Srinivasan, who has served as interim CTO since 2023.

“UKG is on a remarkable trajectory, with the platform, workforce insights, and AI-first strategy to reshape work for organisations around the world,” said Joudrey. “What drew me to UKG is the opportunity to build category leading products that help organisations of all sizes empower their employees and optimise their operations.

“We are the engine of innovation that drives agility, performance, and better work experiences for tens of millions of workers globally.”
