Motion, a care technology company founded by University of Sheffield graduate Zeezy Izenman, has successfully closed a £250k funding round.
The raise has come from a mixture of angel investors and an Innovate UK grant and will be used to accelerate the expansion of the company’s digital platform.
Motion’s digital platform is already improving outcomes for over 3,000 care home residents whilst driving operational efficiency for providers.
The human-centred technology improves resident outcomes, reduces administrative burden for care teams, and keeps families informed and connected.
The investment round attracted backing from experienced entrepreneurs and sector specialists.
The UK residential care sector is valued at £26.2bn annually but remains significantly under-digitised.
Zeezy Izenman, CEO and founder of Motion, said: “We’ve identified a clear market need with quantifiable business benefits.
“Care providers see ROI through reduced administrative costs and improved family satisfaction, whilst we’re building a scalable technology business in a large, stable market.”
Izenman founded Motion while studying at the University of Sheffield and it now serves multiple care providers.
Claire Rintoul, CEO of Sheffcare, said: “The Motion team are incredible – they’re very skilled and we love having them working with our care homes.”
The funding will support product development, sales team expansion and strategic partnerships with major care home operators.
