CheckedSafe was crowned the Most Innovative Business of 2022 at the BIBAs.
The SaaS platform for digital compliance, a star of our RegTech 50 innovation ranking last year, won the gong at a glitzy ceremony at Blackpool Tower attended by 1,100 people.
CheckedSafe’s app replaces cumbersome and archaic paper-based checklists with a digital version which collects data to ensure compliance.
Lancashire’s most prestigious and longest-running business awards programme, run by the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, also recognised fellow tech firm Suresite Group as Small Business of Year.
Suresite creates specialist retail business products for optimising growth through online marketplace Suresite Connex.
Darran Harris, a former solicitor and co-founder of Burnley-based CheckedSafe, was thanked by Lancashire County Council leader Phillippa Williamson and Aidy Riggott, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Growth.
“Huge congratulations… there are so many amazing businesses here in Lancashire, which is a constant source of pride for Lancashire County Council. Without you the county wouldn’t be half the place it is, and that is why we wanted to reach out and personally thank you,” they wrote.
“Alongside many other inspirational businesses, you make up the DNA of Lancashire and highlight our rich diversity, resilience, ambition and innovation.”
The night was hosted by Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole – no stranger to the Tower thanks to the hit BBC show – while Boy band Blue performed a range of their hit songs and Lancashire-based international opera star Sean Ruane also sang.
