Wunderman Thompson has acquired NN4M – No Need 4 Mirrors – a mobile commerce partner for global retailers and brands.
Edinburgh-headquartered NN4M will form part of the global eCommerce consultancy Wunderman Thompson Commerce, providing a strategic step forward for its commitment to delivering effective cross-channel engagement platforms.
NN4M is the mobile technology partner to some of the largest and most successful commerce brands, including Selfridges & Co., Nestlé, JD Wetherspoon and River Island.
NN4M employs 50 people delivering eCommerce mobile applications across multiple markets and regions. With over 15 years’ experience, the company has a strong history in creating mobile solutions that span multiple touchpoints, including smartphone, tablet, apps and in-store experiences.
NN4M builds native bespoke apps to help clients advance their channel strategy and support customers in the places they want to interact.

“The acquisition of NN4M allows Wunderman Thompson to take a significant step forward in delivering our long-term cross-channel strategy,” said James Westoby, Wunderman Thompson Commerce UK CEO.
“Adding additional mobile expertise will substantially strengthen our online multichannel offering and allow us to deliver ever more sophisticated and powerful solutions on the most advanced app platform in the market.
“It also puts us in a strong position to inspire client solutions that support blended digital and store journeys, creating hybrid experiences that offer engagement across the customer journey.
“With striking similarities across our working cultures, target customers and technology capabilities, NN4M offers a perfect fit for us – and we are hugely excited to continue our respective journeys together, providing brands and retailers with a best-in-class, experience-driven commerce offering.”

The move online has meant that consumers are becoming increasingly demanding on their expectations of organisations when shopping virtually – whether via marketplaces, retailer sites, brand sites or social channels.
As a result, the user experience is increasingly critical – often where the game is won or lost for brands and retailers – and this is an area where NN4M can make a major impact.
Jonathan Heap, CTO and founder of NN4M, said: “Our acquisition by Wunderman Thompson, with its reputation for innovation and excellence, offers a fantastic opportunity for NN4M to build on its success within the commerce sector.
“As the digital economy continues to drive forward at ever increasing speeds, we are thrilled to be part of an exciting online retail future.”
