Autocab, a Greater Manchester-based taxi software company owned by Uber, has appointed Mike Russell as its chief operating officer.
Russell has held senior positions within established tech businesses, predominantly in the travel industry.
These include serving as group CEO for Comtec Holdings, CEO for Vertical Systems and, most recently, COO for Open Destinations.
An engineer and accountant by training, Autocab says he has extensive experience of providing excellent service to a global B2B customer base in the software arena and brings a practical, hands-on approach to delivery.
“Autocab has a brilliant team which has enabled it to be such a success story over the last 30 years,” said Russell.
“Implementing complex, central, systems in any business is a major endeavour and the key to success is having strong relationships at all levels.
“I look forward to meeting Autocab’s customers around the world and to building strong and rewarding relationships with them.”
