This week is the 30th anniversary of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona where the latest smartphone innovations will be announced.
Running from Monday to Thursday, it features the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile phone industry and a conference for mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors and content owners from across the world.
In 2016 it attracted 101,000 people from more than 200 countries around the world.
BusinessCloud’s next event will take place on March 7, and will look at the use of technology in manufacturing.
The UK’s manufacturers have been tasked with becoming the engine room of the country’s post-Brexit economy.
A weak pound, rising energy prices, increases in the cost of raw materials and general political uncertainty have led to businesses looking towards technology as the catalyst for increased productivity and efficiency gains.
When the Bank of England Governor Mark Carney predicted that 15 million British jobs could be replaced by robots, the world took notice – but manufacturers have been leading the way in automation for years.
The breakfast event is sponsored by DLA Piper and Jumpstart and runs from 7.30 to 9.30am. Join the discussion on Twitter at #manufacturingtech.
