Telefónica Tech UK&I has named its VP of data and AI practice, Martyn Bullerwell, as its new CEO.
Bullerwell joined the company through the acquisition of the tech business he founded, data analytics company Adatis Consulting, which was acquired by the telecommunications giant’s subsidiary in 2021.
He brings experience in technology leadership and business growth and will now lead the company through its next phase in the UK and Ireland.
Before joining Telefónica Tech, Bullerwell built Adatis with a focus on data, AI and digital transformation.
Since becoming part of the firm, he is said to have helped strengthen the business in these areas.
His appointment follows the departure of outgoing CEO Mark Gorton, who steps down after six years with the company – three of them as CEO.

Gorton played a key role in Telefónica Tech UK&I’s transformation after its acquisition in 2021 and in the integration of Incremental Group in 2022.
During his time at the helm, the company saw strong growth across cloud, cyber security, business apps and data & AI.
“I am excited to take on this role and to build on the strong foundation laid by Mark and the leadership team,” Bullerwell said.
“We will continue to focus on delivering value for our customers and driving sustainable growth in our markets.”
The leadership change comes during a period of momentum for Telefónica Tech UK&I.
In March 2025, it opened its new headquarters at 20 Fenchurch Street in London – a space designed to foster innovation and closer collaboration with customers and partners.
It also follows recent partnerships with cybersecurity company SpyCloud and AI powerhouse Perplexity.
