Techspace has petitioned for Aircall UK to be wound up.

The workspace firm claims to be a creditor of the UK subsidiary of the French unicorn, which launched into this country with great fanfare in 2020. A hearing is set for 13th May.

Aircall UK’s confirmation statement is overdue at Companies House. Its remaining directors are global law firm Bird & Bird, which was appointed as company secretary at incorporation in February 2022; Alain Bensimon, chief legal and business officer; Scott Chancellor, who was appointed CEO in 2023; and Lauren Newman, who joined as CFO in 2025.

All the above individuals are based in the United States. The Aircall parent company recently announced $204 million annual recurring revenue for 2025 – representing 26% year-on-year growth – and a seventh consecutive quarter of positive EBITDA.

Aircall’s UK office is now 8 Devonshire Square in London, which includes a WeWork. Its registered address is 12 New Fetter Lane, the offices of Bird & Bird.

BusinessCloud contacted both Aircall UK and Techspace for further information, but did not receive a response.

In 2020 we reported how the cloud telephone platform, then headquartered in Paris, was looking to expand its UK presence following a mammoth £53m funding round.

Co-founder and then COO Jonathan Anguelov – who left the firm in January 2024 – told BusinessCloud at the time that “with the funds from Series C, it has always been intended to use a significant amount on enhancing our presence and awareness in the UK… the goal is to hire 150 new staff by the end of the year”.

However, by the time it launched its London office on the Silicon Roundabout in 2021, it employed 25 people here. It claimed its customer base was 1,000-strong, including Revolut and Royal Bank of Scotland.

Founded in 2014, Aircall raised over $226m in funding.
