Damian McGann is the latest big name from the world of tech to join Praetura Group.
Praetura consists of an asset finance and an asset-based lending division, as well as a VC fund called Praetura Ventures, which aims to bridge the estimated £300m venture capital funding gap for scaling businesses in the North West of England.
McGann, who previously worked for three international banks – holding national board positions in two – has forged a successful career as a respected figure in the world of tech.
As well as being a non-executive director of a Manchester-based FinTech called Nivo, he’s the chairman of Sunlight Technology and an advisor to Silicon Valley Bank.
McGann told BusinessCloud: “Praetura has invested in a number of ambitious fast-growing companies and my job is to help them scale even further.
“Praetura has a long-established track record of investing in and funding businesses. We have an asset-based lending division as well.”
Praetura Ventures recently rebranded from Praetura Capital and recruited former chief commercial officer at Phones4U Scott Hooton; Jonathan Prescott, previously regional sales director at Octopus Investments; Mark Lyons, from Aston Ventures; and Guy Weaver, from KPMG.
