Sponsor My Society and SU Network have established a partnership to support hundreds of societies across eight UK Students’ Unions with finding sponsorship.
Sponsor My Society, founded by recent Lancaster University graduate Jack Culpan, is an online platform that connects university clubs and societies with businesses, enabling the creation of sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
The tech for good platform, which is utilised by leading firms Accenture and PwC, enables student groups to collaborate with top graduate employers to host careers events, networking sessions and educational workshops for their members.
“Joining clubs and societies at university is a fantastic way to both learn outside your degree and meet new people with diverse interests and backgrounds,” said founder Jack Culpan.
“Unfortunately, without precious funding from external sponsors, many fail to support themselves and reach their potential, or worse, they collapse. This is where Sponsor My Society can help.
“It is fantastic to formalise this partnership, which not only improves business relations between the two, but also supports students and maximises their time and experience at university.”
SU Network is a student advertising agency that offers a variety of marketing channels across a number of Students’ Unions, including Kent, Greenwich, City and University of the Creative Arts.
The agency operates as a subsidiary of the Students’ Union of the University of Kent in Canterbury and Medway and provides business development services such as sponsorship, venue hire and advertising to a number of external Students’ Unions and organisations.
Lizzie Norcott, business development coordinator for SU Network, commented: “We’re excited to be working with Jack on promoting sponsorship opportunities for the eight unions that we manage within SU Network.
“We hope this partnership will be beneficial for the students, connecting them to companies with recruitment and development opportunities for their clubs and societies.
“Sponsorship is very important to all student groups, it allows them to expand, develop and increase their participation in competitions and community projects. We look forward to working with Jack on creating these valuable sponsorship packages.”
