Logically, a tech company combining AI and human expertise to tackle mis- and disinformation, has appointed Sir Hossein Yassaie as chair of its board.

Sir Hossein has provided informal strategic support to Logically – star of our MediaTech 50 ranking – over the past two years, advising on the company’s operation and playing an instrumental role in the $24m Series A funding round led by growth investor Vitruvian Partners.

The British entrepreneur will continue supporting the company as it strategically scales globally. With an extensive and successful history in the technology industry, Hossein was CEO of Imagination Technologies Group Plc until 2016, where he created one of the most impactful UK-based technology businesses, with its technologies enabling and powering many iconic brands and billions of devices.

He was also behind the iconic consumer electronics brand, Pure. In 2013 Hossein was Knighted by the Queen in recognition of his services to technology and innovation.

The last two years have been a period of significant growth for Logically. The company saw headcount, revenue, and client roster increases, including partnerships with Meta and TikTok. In 2021, the company launched its threat intelligence platform, Logically Intelligence, which is currently used by public sector bodies in three major democracies.

Sir Hossein Yassaie said: “I’m immensely excited to formalise my engagement with Logically at this stage of its journey. The company is working on some of the most important challenges of modern times and has the potential to make an enormous positive impact on the harm caused by mis- and disinformation.

“I’m delighted to be playing a part in Logically’s mission, and I’m looking forward to continuing working with Lyric and the executive team in helping the company achieve its strategic goals both in the UK and internationally.”
