Hosting and colocation firm UKFast has taken home its second award in two years running at the Skills for Business Awards, recognising its commitment to changing education in businesses across the city.
UKFast took home the Creative, Media and Digital Technology Skills for Business Award following their win in the Medium Business of the Year category last year.
The awards come as a commendation of the company’s £4.5m investment in training and education, spearheaded by a training team of two former teachers.
Less than two years on from the launch of its graduate and apprenticeship schemes, the department is providing forward-thinking, on-the-job learning opportunities for both current and new staff, with links to more than 10% of schools and providers and 22,000 students in Greater Manchester.
UKFast CEO Lawrence Jones MBE said: “Starting the UKFast University with such a big investment was a real risk, but our teachers are incredible. Our graduates and apprentices are an invaluable part of the UKFast family, and even the most established UKFasters are pushing themselves to stay at the cutting edge with new exams and qualifications.
“The company’s win this year is a testament to the incredible work of both our training team and the passion the entire company displays for learning and improving. We always strive to be better and set the bar ever higher.
“We are on a mission to change the face of education in the workplace – even the most successful people never stop learning. I would never want the team to get to the point where they think ‘I’m done now, I don’t need to improve any more’, because that would be letting our customers down, and letting ourselves down too.”
