Tech entrepreneur Scott Fletcher is to join the board of Digital Next as the integrated marketing agency looks to realise its “full potential”.
Fletcher, an MBE, has agreed to buy the equity currently held by Online Group Europe AB, a move which Digital Next says will “help provide further funding for the business as required to support growth”.
Digital Next’s global CEO Justin Blackhurst set up the company with his brother Mark, its global COO, in 2009.
The global search specialist and secure web development agency is based at Manchester’s tech hub the Sharp Project and has opened offices in London, Dublin, Melbourne and the UAE, employing more than 50 staff.
It has a projected turnover of £3million.
Justin said: “We are now perfectly positioned as a business with the appropriate backing on the board to take the brand to the next level.”

Tech entrepreneur Fletcher already heads up companies worth in excess of £200m and founded cloud service provider ANS.
He sees Digital Next, which boasts Unipart and the England & Wales Cricket Board among its clients, as a good fit with his other businesses.
“I have known Mark and Justin ever since I met them at a Google event in 2012 – it was clear they had a vision and drive to achieve their ultimate goals,” he said.
“It seemed clear to me that Digital Next needed my knowhow and capital investment to realise its full potential.
“Like myself, Mark and Justin started in a back bedroom. I now want to give them the benefit of my experience and fast-track their growth.
“Digital Next is a great brand and fits well with my other businesses.”
