Sales Geek has appointed Danny Simpson as its managing director for the UK.

The news comes two months after Simpson announced he would be stepping down from his role as CEO of MID Group and MID Communications after 15 years.

Richard Few, founder of Sales Geek, said: “Danny and I first met back in 2018 and since then we’ve shared many lunches, beers, Zoom calls and sales clubs.

“For those six years he’s been an angel on our shoulders and it’s a real honour to now have him properly in the team.

“As we continue to grow internationally it’s important we don’t slow down our momentum in our home market of the UK.”

Sales Geek was founded to change the perception of sales and offers a mix of online sales coaching, in-person training and tips through its app.

Simpson said: “I’m excited to work with Geek family and grow the UK franchise channel with our amazing franchisees and ones we are yet to welcome.”

He joins with an impressive pedigree having grown his previous business  from a £2m operation to £20m with over 180 employees at its peak.

Simpson is a past chair of pro-manchester and helped grow MID Communications and MID Group into the largest multi award-winning O2 franchise in the North West.

His decision to leave  followed the closure of the franchise model.

Sales Geek experienced significant growth in 2024, launching in India and the across the six Gulf Cooperation Countries, as well as adding Geeks across nine more states in the USA.

The company recently appointed Jay Williams as its new head of global recruitment.

Danny Simpson joins Sales Geek with an impressive background, having owning a group structure one of which operated 18 sites across 16 stores as the largest independent franchisee for Virgin Media, O2 across the North West.

His extensive leadership, entrepreneurial and sales experience along with his strategic insights & relationships make him the perfect fit for this role, where he will focus on enhancing Sales Geek’s UK operations, while strategically supporting franchisees growth plans.

It comes after Lancashire Business View reported that Sales Geek had appointed Jay Williams as head of Global Recruitment to lead their expansion across the UK and the rest of the world.

Danny Simpson has announced he will step down from his role as CEO of MID Group and MID Communications Ltd in December after 15 years.

In a personal message on LinkedIn he spoke of his pride at growing the business from a £2m operation to £20m with over 180 employees at its peak.

Simpson is a past chair of pro-manchester and helped grow MID Communications and MID Group into the largest multi award-winning O2 franchise in the North West.

His decision follows the closure of the franchise model and he’s stayed within the business to try and help staff with the transfer or supported them in finding alternative employment.

He’s passionate about gender disparity and mental health was included in BusinessCloud’s Northern Leaders Futures list.

He wrote: “We set out to become one of the best mobile retailers in the franchise model and have achieved many great milestones and accolades, including one of our proudest moments: Investors in People Platinum, Franchise of the Year, Investors in Environment and many others collectively and personally.

“I also had the pleasure of leading an incredible tribe of people that built a business to form a group to though many difficult and challenging changes over the many years. I am proud to remain as a shareholder and investor of MID Digital Solutions, led by great sales director Joshua Braddish.

“I am excited to see where you and the team will take it going forwards in 2025. You’re doing a great job and I’m pleased to see you get some shares in the business with us very soon to build the next chapter of the business.
