Manchester-based development community Tribes has appointed scale-up specialist Nick Richardson as non-executive director.
Richardson, founder of The Insights Family, joins the leadership team as Tribes embarks on its next phase of expansion.
The move follows a record-breaking year in 2024, marked by rapid growth of its proprietary DevCheck platform.
The company has also scaled its globally powered developer network, expanding to more than 20,000 rigorously vetted tech professionals.
Richardson, founder of The Insights Family and a member of BusinessCloud’s Northern Leaders Futures list, was also recently announced as an entrepreneur in residence at Greater Manchester Business School.
Tribes provides tech talent and studio capabilities to organisations such as Compare the Market, Hitachi, Universal Music Group and Wavemaker.
The firm says that Richardson’s appointment signals a strategic acceleration of the agency’s long-term roadmap.
“Nick brings a sharp understanding of innovation and strategic growth,” said Bruce Thomas, founder, Tribes Agency.
“His track record in building The Insights Family resonated with our ambitions at Tribes. Since joining us earlier this year, he’s already made a significant impact across the business.”
Richardson added: “The time is now for Tribes – their unique proposition provides a ‘win, win, win’ situation for their clients, their developers and of course for Tribes themselves.
“It has been a pleasure to work with Bruce, David, Steven and Nora to shape their future strategy, and I’m excited to work with them to turn their future strategy into reality.”
