BusinessCloud can reveal its FactoryTech 50 innovation ranking for 2023.

Readers of the online technology publication and an independent judging panel have together decided the 50 companies blazing a technology trail in manufacturing.

The FactoryTech 50 – supported by digital transformation experts Sputnik Digital – celebrates businesses of all sizes creating original technology for use in manufacturing, heavy industry, batteries and materials.

SamsonVT, which helps manufacturers to transform the after sales customer experience, tops the ranking.

In second spot is Nottingham-based Intoware, which has developed digital instructions and onboarding for industrial workforces. It is aiming to become the first-choice partner for the connected workforce through its WorkfloPlus platform.

Behind Ai Build in third are Fitfactory and Haydale, both new entries for 2023.

In sixth, London firm CloudNC has developed software which accelerates precision manufacturing and makes it more efficient, reliable and accessible.

Soter Analytics, Pragmatic Semiconductor, Tribosonics and Automata made the top 10.

Also featuring is Forefront RF, a Cambridge-based fabless semiconductor company created in 2020 to change the way the RF front ends of global smartphones, wearables and IoT devices are designed.

BusinessCloud called on its readers to vote for companies from the 78-strong shortlist and saw hundreds of votes pour in.

A combination of these votes and choices from an independent judging panel determined the top 50. 

The judging panel was comprised of:  

• Victoria White, editor, UK Manufacturing Online

• Alain Dilworth, programme manager, Made Smarter North West adoption programme

• Stuart Biddle, head of sales, The Manufacturer/Hennik Research

• Jonathan Symcox, editor, BusinessCloud
