Newcastle-based Cybit has divested its enterprise-grade security division, Cybit Cyber, to digital service provider Viatel Technology.
Cybit, a provider of data intelligence and AI-driven technology solutions, is now setting its sights on delivering tailored technology solutions and services across several sectors to the mid-market corporate and SME segment.
It says the divestment to the Dublin-headquartered firm enables both Cybit and Cybit Cyber to pursue growth strategies best aligned with their respective markets and customer needs.
The business currently serves 18 regions in five countries and has 30 years of industry and technology experience.
Both are set to continue to collaborate where opportunities arise to ensure continuity and value for customers.
“This decision marks a significant milestone in Cybit’s evolution,” said James Hunnybourne, executive chair of Cybit. “By focusing our efforts on our core mid-market strategy, we are better positioned to deliver innovation and value to our customers.
“We are proud of the legacy and expertise built within Cybit Cyber and are confident that under Viatel’s leadership, the team will continue to thrive.
“We remain committed to supporting our customers, partners, and employees throughout this transition and look forward to future collaboration opportunities.”
Paul Rellis, CEO of Viatel Technology Group, added: “We are delighted to welcome Cybit Cyber into the Viatel family.
“Its deep expertise in enterprise-grade cybersecurity perfectly complements our existing capabilities and strengthens our position as a trusted digital transformation partner.
“This acquisition reinforces our commitment to delivering secure, scalable, and innovative solutions to businesses across Ireland and beyond.”
