Softcat has moved to an expanded London office and reported AI-related growth.

The IT services provider said its operating profit jumped 10.4% to £73.7m in the six months ending 31st January and raised its full-year operating profit growth forecast to low double-digit percentages.

Its share price rose 8% today following the news, and is 17% up in the last five days.

It put the growth down to a boom in demand for AI and automation.

“Our existing capabilities and continued investment mean we are well positioned to support the evolving technological needs of our customers, enabling us to sustainably grow market share,” said Softcat CEO Graham Charlton.

It has moved its London base to the St. Botolph Building, which it says is just a two-minute walk from its previous location at One Creechurch Lane.

The new space is 22,000 sq. ft. larger and its ‘second office to showcase Softcat’s new look and feel’.

It has a presentation space that can accommodate 380 people, along with a smaller presentation space for 150 people.

Among the amenities are a bank of electric standing desks, a serene wellbeing room, multi-faith room and a gaming area.

Matt Brennan, sales and office manager for Softcat London, said: “I believe this move is absolutely going to drive our success and collaboration with its enhanced space and technology. We have a high-performance culture that is built upon the foundations of a strong people-first culture, as we believe this drives the best out of our people.

“This new space, and the way in which we will use it, will allow us to make that experience even greater, not only for Softcat but for our customers and vendors. There are no limits to what I believe we will be able to achieve in this new home.”
