Personalised learning products developer IXL Learning has acquired MyTutor, the UK’s leading online tutoring platform.
California-based IXL Learning employs over 1,500 people globally and its products are used by tens of millions of people.
Meanwhile, more than 200,000 families and 40 per cent of secondary schools across the UK trust MyTutor to help students catch up, stay motivated and achieve better outcomes.
MyTutor raised £15m in 2021 in a round led by SEEK Investments and supported by existing investors including Mobeus Equity Partners.
The acquisition is set to help London-based My Tutor expand its reach and support a broader set of subjects.

Since 2013, MyTutor has been aiming to make one-on-one, personalised learning accessible to those in need of it.
It matches learners with high-achieving university students who offer subject expertise and a near-peer connection.
More than 10,000 tutors teach over 30 subjects – from core areas such as maths, English, biology, chemistry and physics to key qualifications, like GCSEs and A-Levels.
Its impact has led to partnerships with over 1,600 secondary schools and more than 4m lessons delivered nationwide.
